Abstract

SPACE IN THE STRUCTURE OF RUSSIAN FOLKLORE LANGUAGE PERSONALITY
Abstract
Folklore texts analysis is very important not only for folklore studies, but for linguistics on the whole. Such texts can be analyzed through the linguistic personality of their authors. The article studies the specificity of author’s linguistic personality on the example of verbalization of the concept ‘Space’ in Russian chastushka. The authors conclude that combining of collective and individual features of linguistic personality in chastushka results in special linguistic means representing concept ‘Space’.

STRUCTURAL FEATURES OF COMPOSITE ADJECTIVES
Abstract
Complex units of word-formation system within the framework of cognitive linguistics are examined here. There are different scientific approaches to description and structural organization of complex adjectives. Onomasiological method should be used to define the connection between basic word- combination and derivatives. Complex adjectives are studied in a way suggesting by the theory of composite-building. We have described them as univerbalisation composites and quasi-composites. On the other hand, cognitive direction considers derivational units as framing type conceptual structures. The word-formation system is a result of complex units interaction, there have been mentioned derivational categories, derivational types and derivational nests. Derivational type is supposed to be a language category being used as a way of world cognition modelling. The derivational nests play organizing and system-generating roles as well. They are considered as derivatives combination with structural and semantic relations. This paper also analyses conceptual derivation as basic point of adjectives substantivation. All scientific methods described here have a general point in determining the correlations between basic word and derivatives.

STRENGTHENING PERSONAL POSITION IN MODERN RUSSIAN BUSINESS CORRESPONDENCE: POSITIVE AND NEGATIVE ASPECTS
Abstract
The article analyzes about 150 business letters of correspondence between Russian business partners. We note that the unity of business writing genre is supported at the expense of traditional use of standardized structural elements relating to introductions and endings business letter. However, the basic, informative part of the letter, the text of the remain standard only at the level of general structure (ascertaining part and new information); the style of the same vocabulary and syntax is transformed. Changes are associated with the strengthening of position of the author in business correspondence.

LINGUOCULTURAL ANALYSIS OF MACROTOPONYMS IN CHILE
Abstract
The timeliness of the article refers to a keen interest in the interaction of language and culture in geographical names. The paper provides the linguocultural analysis of macrotoponyms of Chile, features of formation of macrotoponyms and their etymology. Moreover, a classification of geographical names is offered. This article also highlights the role of studying toponyms for linguistics, history and society as a whole. The linguocultural analysis showed the prevalence of Indian backgrounds in macrotoponyms. They can be divided into several groups: fitotoponyms, zootoponyms, toponyms related to environmental conditions, lifestyle, religion, geography and geology. Geographical names appeared after the discovery of America by Europeans are related to historical events, personalities and discoverers. The timeliness of the article refers to a keen interest in the interaction of language and culture.

MAIN WAYS OF FORMING SLANG VOCABULARY IN ENGLISH
Abstract
This article deals with the main ways of forming slang vocabulary in English. In the research process, the author has used extensive scientific literature in order to identify the group of derivatives of words formed by morphological method, namely by means of affixation representing a process of adding affixes to the root or base of the word; by means of combining the bases of two or more words producing a compound word; by using such methods as contamination and shortening, as well as by using method of concatenation, meaning to acquire a new connotation and the expansion of the semantic “chain” of the word. In addition, borrowing plays not unimportant part in building slang vocabulary in English. For this reason, the author demonstrates basic information about the national history and language situation of Great Britain, the USA, Canada, New Zealand and other countries in the English - speaking world in order to identify similarities and differences in their indications.

INFLUENCE OF LANGUAGE CONTACT ON LANGUAGE VIEW OF THE WORLD
Abstract
This article argues that language contacts may influence linguistic view of the world. The hypothesis was formulated by Russian linguists, but did not attract enough attention. On the example of German calques in the Czech language we propose a set of methods for proving the hypothesis.

CONCEPTUALIZATION OF FEMININE BEAUTY IN ENGLISH CULTURAL WORLDVIEW
Abstract
The article aims at systematizing English phraseological units characterizing women’s beauty. The conclusion concerns the most numerous phraseosemantic groups, the most frequently occurring elements of the units are commented upon. Special attention is paid to the connotative and structural peculiarities of the phraseological units of the chosen subject matter in order to identify information about the culture and national character of representatives of this ethnic group.

LINGUISTIC ANALYSIS OF DEMONYMS IN PARAGUAYAN AND URUGUAYAN SPANISH
Abstract
The present article analyses demonyms in Paraguayan and Uruguayan Spanish in a close correlation with a developing discipline that is linguistic geography. Denominative adjectives, also called demonyms, when they obtain the meaning of a noun, are directly connected with toponymy. Toponymy often reflects geographical, historical and cultural features of places it denominates and has a significant rolein lexicology of any language. Besides giving a detailed descriptions of the notions of toponymy and demonyms, the author also pays special attention on the formation of demonyms via suffixation and enumerates the most productive suffixes, as well as the rare ones. Moreover, the present article offers the suffixation analysis in two South American countries - Paraguay and Uruguay, showing that “-eño” appears to be the most productive suffix in Paraguay, whilst “-ense” is the most frequent one in the Uruguayan system of demonyms.

PARTICULARITIES OF HUMOUR IN BASQUE LINGUOCULTURE
Abstract
The article treats some particularities of Basque national humor that we investigate on the material of jokes. Due to the anthropocentric orientation of modern science, including linguistics, the study of a particular linguistic world picture through discourse analysis is of particular importance for the development of human knowledge. The selected framework of investigation not only permits identify the common characteristics of the concept of “humor”, but also lets us clarify the values of a certain ethnic group, in this case of the Basque one, distinguish the particularities of their life, traditions and behavior. The analysis of Basque linguoculture is of great practical importance since this ethnic group is one of the least studied in the anthropological and linguistic aspects, and therefore represents a broad field of research. The information that we can obtain while investigating Basque jokes can be used in the following in teaching linguoculture and can be a secret clue to successful intercultural communication.

LINGUISTIC “CONSTRUCTION” OF THE GLOBALIZING WORLD: LINGUОSEMIOTIC ASPECT
Abstract
The article offers a retrospective analysis of the interaction between the language and cogitative activity of the person in the globalization context. The paper addresses the issue of linguistic differences in cross-cultural communication and discusses communicative strategies that could be used to mitigate them. The authors argue that lingua-didactic multicultural education can help remove the main obstacle in the traditional teaching of Russian as a foreign language (RFL) - a “clash of cultures”; and not only can introduce a model of teaching to write, read, and speak in Russian, but can also offer a system of instruction that will allow the students to understand the way Russians think, which surely would make it easier for them to “translate” a text from one culture into another in a non-native “cultural environment” providing a polylingual format for interaction.

LEXICAL EXPRESSIVE MEANS OF EMOTIVITY(Based on Modern French, English and German Fiction)
Abstract
In fiction, emotional states and emotions can be shown with the help of different expressive means. This article focuses on lexical means of the emotivity expression in modern French, English and German fiction. It covers the following issues: lexis of limited use, linguistic borrowing, synonyms, antonyms, fixed phrases and interjections. This work touches upon a variety of emotions that can be communicated with the help of these means. The conclusion can be drawn that more often the data of the English and German languages were different from the data of the French language, which allowed us to emphasize the influence of a language group on its emotivity expression. It is important to note that lexical means of emotivity do not always express emotions directly, but more often transmit special imagery and picturesqueness, reveal emotive coloration, create the general tone of a work of fiction, which helps the reader to understand better the emotional states of characters.

CULTURE OF SCIENTIFIC SPEECH IN POSTGRADUATE TECHNICAL COLLEGE EDUCATION
Abstract
The article deals with the problem of learning the culture of scientific speech in technical university. Mastering the basics of scientific writing culture runs parallel with the development of a professional competence of the student and therefore involves: acquaintance with the methodology and technology of scientific work, the specifics of the scope, forms and methods of scientific research; the specifics of the language of science, sub-genres and academic typology of genres; especially in science and technical sublanguage: the scope of its use, the nature of the presentation and submission of scientific information. An important aspect of the language of the group work is to introduce graduate students to the peculiarities of written scientific communications, secondary (reproductive) and primary (productive) scientific texts and the stages of their creation. Students get acquainted with the structure and components of the scientific work, the rules of the speech processing of certain types of text and illustrations, including standardization of the presentation of bibliographic apparatus of scientific work.The above material is put by the author in a basis of formation of the communicative competence of students in educational and scientific sphere of communication, in the development of training manuals on the culture of scientific speech. The article describes the goals, objectives and structure of the manual that reflects the content of the discipline “Communicative and stylistic features of oral and written scientific speech”. The given manual is designed for classroom and extracurricular work of undergraduates, graduate students and young teachers enrolled in further educational program “Teacher of high school”. The manual was prepared by the author in the course of professional development for1 year post-graduate training in the Bauman MSTU. The theoretical material and practical tasks of the course help students to master the language by means of the scientific style of the Russian language, improve the skills to create and design their own scientific texts (thesis, article, final qualifying work, dissertation research).
