The article discusses the role of psycholinguistics — the science of processes of perception and production of speech in developing and improving practice and theory of teaching Russian as a foreign language.

An advertisement can be described as a specific speech pattern having a certain genre and composition structure. Since an advertisement is much alike primary speech genres (message, announcement, explanation) in terms of their form and communicative goal, the theory of speech acts can be applied to their study. The illocutionary goal of an advertisement as a speech act is communication of information, but the illocutionary force represents more complicated set of means of positive emotional impact on an addressee. However, sometimes the advertising impact (perlocutionary effect) may differ from that anticipated and result in communication failure.

The article deals with the role of suggestive and counter-suggestive functions of speech in the process of oral communication. Teaching methods containing elements of suggestion are considered as suggestive means. Their usage in the teaching process makes this process more efficient. The teacher’s awareness of the counter-suggestion mechanism helps him to overcome misunderstanding in the recipient’s consciousness during the teaching process.

The principles of training foreign students in Russian professional internet communication are considered in connection with the expansion of the virtual environment in specialist training activities. The specificity of virtual language environment, structured according to the purpose and content of training, and the peculiarities of professional online communication are presented in the article.

The article studies the development of linguistic and communicative competence of Chinese students on the basis of a system of exercises, worked out in the nationally-oriented reading manual “Famous people of Russia. XXI century”.

The present article is a result of the practical experience in developing translation skills for students of the Law faculty. The article studies interference of the Russian language and native languages of foreign students in the process of learning Russian speech culture. The authors analyze common interference-caused mistakes, propose the list of important points to avoid such mistakes and outline the main principles of the course “Russian Language and Speech Culture for foreigners”.

This article is about one of the main Russian language problems, i.e. a gap between the object of reality and the linguistic sign meaning. It leads not only to the desemantization of the main state language verbal concepts, but also to misunderstanding of the text written in this language. One of the ways to solve this problem is creating a special combined dictionary.
