Abstract

The idioms that represent the concept stupidity in the Russian language on the background of the Chinese language are being studied in this paper. The article considers the theoretical notions of the concept and phraseological meaning and investigate the signs that represent concept glupost’ (stupidity) in the Russian language on the background of the Chinese language. The phraseological corpuses of the two languages have similarities and difference The Russian language is the basic material of the study, and the Chinese language serves as a background of the cultural identity of the phraseological material.
