Abbreviation as a productive means of new phisiological terms formation

Abstract

The article considers abbreviation as an effective means of modern Russian word-formation in the field of normal physiology terminology. The author explores lexical, semantic and phonetic features of this word-formation method. The classification and linguistic analysis of the modern terms of normal physiology, selected from medical texts and dictionaries are also given.
