In this article main peculiarities of postgraduate education as the form of planned training of the scientific and pedagogical personnel in the system of continuous education of philologists - teachers of Russian as a foreign language are investigated. Reflections on the problems of the effectiveness if this stage, correspondence to the declared aims, the process of the formation of creative personality are also given.
