Abstract
The article studies the imaginative component of the concept ‘WORLD TREE’ in Russian linguistic picture of the world. The aim of this research is to describe image as one of the main parts of the linguistic picture of the world. There are different definitions of the mentioned term. The basis of the viewpoint of the authors is the so-called grid of reference - tree morphology, due to which the global image of the world is reduced to a specific cognizable object. With the crown of the tree correspond birds, for example, the mythical bird Sirin. Creature with the head of a girl and the body of a bird, which connected the human’s world with the world of the gods. World tree is often represented by the invariants, since it is a kind of ideal objects.
