Abstract

Childhood as one of the most frequent themes in Charles Lamb's (1775-1834) creative works is considered in the article. His involvement with the theme is revealed in number of works and comprises problems of raising children, child's vocation, and infant's mortality, together with Lamb's own recollections of his childhood. Lamb's adaptations of world literature best samples, as well as books targeted at young readers are also regarded.
