Abstract

Until the beginning of the XXI century Kazakh belles-lettres was translated into European languages in the overwhelming majority of cases from the Russian translation. It is a question of the period when translations from the Kazakh language into Russian were carried out not only by their staff, but also by invited specialists. As our research shows, the distortion of information caused by translation fail-ures and mistakes in the Russian language leads to “interference in the information” in other languages, including to English. The article is illustrated by translation errors from the Kazakh language to Russian, and from Russian to English, extracted from the Russian translation of A. Nurpeisov's novel “Blood and Sweat”.
