Abstract
The paper treats the penetration of English loan words into the Russian language in the second half of the 19th century. The highlight is on the ways of Anglicisms employment with specific stylistic aims in the chronicle of the The Frigate Pallada trip by I.A. Goncharov. The purpose is to trace assimilation of the loan words of English origin in the Russian language of the second half of the 19th century on the material of the trip chronicle.
