Abstract
In this article, we provide a partial analysis of the theoretical manifests and some interviews of French symbolists based on the “Questionnaire on the evolution of literature” (Enquête sur l’évolution littéraire) by Huret J. As for instance, Mallarmé and Verlaine appear at the head of symbolists and decadents; Huysmans, who wrote “À rebours”, becomes a naturalist; as for Baju, he does not appear at all in the list. The work of Huret, and of symbolists rose numerous controversies. We tried to reflect the main milestones of the history of French symbolism, a literary trend at the end of the 19th century. The authors of this period tried to influence the mind and the moral senses of a person by the means of aesthetic emotions.

“STONE” AND “PSYCHE”: NEW RESEARCH OF OSIP MANDELSTAM’S POETIC SEMANTICSReview of the book: Kikhney L.G. and Merkel E.V.Osip Mandelshtam: the philosophy of word and poetic semantics: monography. М.: Flinta publishers, 2013. 168 p
Abstract
The review covers the monograph by L.G. Kikhney and E.V. Merkel “Osip Mandelstam: the philosophy of word and poetic semantics” which is devoted to Mandelstam’s linguistic philosophy and his individual semantic principal. The main goal is to study Mandelshtam’s interaction of his artistic texts and theoretical ideas concerning the philosophy of word and text as well as author’s and reader’s images. The monograph reveals Mandelstam’s poetic universe during its three development stages. As theoretical reflection in his articles and essays and artistic methods refer to different chronological frames, they inconsistently show Mandelstam’s dialectics of views on the author’s key poetic categories. In this paper the syntagmatic and paradigmatic evolution of notional complexes, complicated interaction of images and inspirations in Mandelstam’s works are described. The particular aspect of his artistic method lies in inclusive and associatively determined «flowing» of certain notional complexes into the others as well as in accumulation of morphologically different, but semantically identical structures.
