Garaeva A.R., Khussamov R.R.

Abstract

The article analyses the "soft power" of the Republic of Korea (hereinafter - RK) and its contribution to the economic growth of this country. The authors examined the evolution of the change in the added value of cultural products. The relationship between the economic indicators of the total export and the export of the cultural and entertainment brand was also revealed. The results of the study show that the Korean national policy to improve the recognition of the cultural brand of the Republic of Kazakhstan is effective. This is evidenced by the low correlation between the export indicators considered. In this regard, researchers conclude that the promotion of the cultural and entertainment brand contributes not only to attracting additional investments from abroad, but also increases the demand for other types of products of South Korean producers.

Regional competitiveness and objectives for the efficient use of forest resources in the Far East

Grigoriev G.I., Ermakova N.A.

Abstract

Russia is the first country in terms of forest land. The Far Eastern Federal District has the largest reserves of ripe and perestroika operating forests, as well as huge resources of non-wood forest products. But a very large territory and extremely poorly developed transport infrastructure currently lead to the inefficient use of forest resources of the Far East of the Russian Federation, although the border countries of the Asia-Pacific region have great potential for importing products from the forest complex of the Far East. The article identifies the problems and prospects for the development of the forest complex of the Far East of the Russian Federation both from the point of view of harvesting and processing wood, and from the point of view of harvesting and processing non-wood forest products. The possibilities of plantation cultivation of forest resources, re-industrialization of timber enterprises of the Far East, development of transport infrastructure were analyzed. It was concluded that the development of the forest complex of the Far East requires not only strengthening the forest industry, but also work in the field of infrastructure and management methods.

Improving the methodology of comprehensive assessment of the spatial development of the Astana agglomeration

Zadvorneva E.P.

Abstract

World practice shows the ability of agglomerations to concentrate the country's potential: industrial, financial, managerial, innovative, ensuring the formation of strategic zones of spatial and economic development. The formation of agglomerations, including Astana (in Kazakhstan), is determined by the historical development of the settlement network in a specific geographical situation, as well as socio-economic conditions. In this article, the author considers the need for managerial influence at all levels, both strategic and regional, on the systematic use of economic resources in order to use them effectively in the formation and development of agglomeration. In the course of the study, the author revealed that the Astana agglomeration includes the capital of Kazakhstan, Nur-Sultan, and suburban areas of the 1,5 hour ring. The basis for the successful development of a young agglomeration will be the formation of agglomeration thinking: a view of the territory as a single object, coordination of all interests - administration, business. In these conditions, according to the author, the assessment of the spatial and economic value of the agglomeration, taking into account subsystems and factors, becomes a necessity. The article shows the results of the research obtained by the author in the process of formation and development of the «young agglomeration»; the tools of complex assessment analyzed, suggestions for its improvement are given.
