The reasons for the contemporary insolvency of the Malthus theory in the works of scientists are determined. The views of Malthus on the law on beggars and its impact on British social policy in Great Britain in the XVIII century are considered. The main theses that have served as a subject for research in the scientific works of a number of economists, sociologists and philosophers are given. The influence of his theory on the formation of new scientific concepts was revealed, as well as the ability of Malthus' views to remain relevant and adapt to new changes.
