Abstract

In 2008, the Chinese television celebrated its 50-th anniversary. During this relatively short time it has made a rapid dash forward, becoming the leading industry in China and one of the largest companies worldwide. In the rating of 500 largest enterprises of the world in 2008, the Central Chinese Television took 65th place [2]. In this article the author examines the situation in the television market, highlighting the main features of Chinese television. The basic idea of this material is the disclosure of importance of governmental and party regulation for the processes occurring in the media and for the preservation of national characteristics.
