During this relatively short time it has made a rapid dash forward, becoming the leading industry in China and one of the largest companies worldwide. In the rating of 500 largest enterprises of the world in 2008, the Central Chinese Television took 65th place [2]. In this article the author examines the situation in the television market, highlighting the main features of Chinese television. The basic idea of this material is the disclosure of importance of governmental and party regulation for the processes occurring in the media and for the preservation of national characteristics.</abstract><trans-abstract xml:lang="ru">В 2008 году китайское телевидение отмечало свой 50-летний юбилей. За этот сравнительно небольшой срок оно сделало стремительный бросок вперед, превратившись из отстающей промышленности в лидирующую отрасль Китая и одно из крупнейших предприятий мира. В рейтинге 500 крупнейших предприятий мира в 2008 году Центральное китайское телевидение заняло 65-е место [2]. В данной статье автор анализирует сложившуюся ситуацию на телевизионном рынке, выделяя основные черты китайского телевидения.
