Abstract
The article analyzes the characteristics and traits are determined by oral public monologue speech as the main form of political solemn eloquence on the basis of empirical material rhetorical speech acts renowned hierarch of the Russian Church of the XVI century Macarius - Metropolitan of Moscow, analyzes the means of speech expressiveness of speech inherent in high style; defined peculiarities of the composition construction of oratorical works of that period.Contact religious outlook and state of activity of Metropolitan Macarius left a mark on the subject and the content of his speeches. He claimed the theocratic nature of imperial power and the need for union with the Church authorities Despite the fact that the ancient theory of rhetoric speakers, themes and design techniques of oratorical works borrowed from Byzantium, Metropolitan Macarius sought in its own way to interpret events to create their tradition of oratory, most bringing them to the history of his people.
