Abstract
Research is devoted to one of the central problems of modern literary criticism - the interaction of literature and myth. The article seeks to prove that the image of the main character in the novel “Angel’s bite” by Petersburg writer Pavel Krusanov sprouting from the myth of the Culture hero. Analyzes the major stages of the formation of the protagonist, the main of which is a initiation rite that has mythological roots, as well as the motive of incest as one of the central themes in archaic texts. During the research the author found that novel “Angel’s bite” by P. Krusanov contains mythological components.
