Abstract
The practical issues associated with searching reliable information about the publication activity of Russian scientist are discussed in the article. The examples in [1] show that the effective solution of this problem requires the using of different scientometric services: both the domestic eLIBRARY.RU and its Russian Science Citation Index, and the Google Scholar as an alternative. At the time the work is published comparison was not in favor of the domestic resource. However, due to the RSCI project within a short period the eLibrary’s tools for building database of scientific publications have grown significantly and the opportunities to improve the quality of scientometric information become real. The article gives the examples.
