Media globalization: is it a myth or reality?

Abstract

The article is devoted to the problem of globalization in mass media and its studying by foreign researchers. Special attention is paid to the ambiguous appraisal of media globalization by western scholars. Why do some of them call it a myth? What does media globalization bring to national cultures: advantages or dangers? What factors are in the foundation of attempts to determine the level of media globalization?
