Abstract

In the 1620s Patriarch Philaret demanded to change rules how to adopt people of other believes in the Orthodoxy. In the context of social, loyal, political and cultural practices of the 1620-1630s two documents on this subject, joint in «Sobornoye ulozhenie» (1620) and printed in Book of Needs (Trebnik) in 1624, give an information about Philaret's political pragmatism to historians.
