Abstract
On the basis of analyzing the works of the outstanding Persian poets of XI-XII c., such as Mas'ud Sa'd Salman, Sanai Ghaznevi and Mehsiti Ganjavi, the author of the paper has made an attempt to trace main stages of evolution of the genre of shahrashub, which is little dealt with in the Iranian studies. Such study is meant to throw more light upon the problem of the system of Persian classical poetic genres and forms (X-XV с.).
