Abstract
This paper considers the process of shaping the modern multifunctional media text in the information space of convergent media. An assumption is made that the global media text, while providing unique capability of rapid and detailed news coverage, may be potentially harmful for the audience. The major threats are specific addictions such as the internet addiction and PR addiction, mentally traumatic situations, and even health damaging and life threatening conditions. These threats may be caused by infrequent and incorrect moderation and fact checking. Recent initiatives by the State aimed at regulating the web may be considered as evidence of threats coming from certain forms of media text.
