Abstract

The article deals with the distinctive features of Soviet teachers in post-war decades as a specific social and professional group. On the material of the Southern Urals the author considers the factors that influenced the social activity of teachers. Special attention is paid to the social and demographic characteristics, spiritual aspect, and social prestige of a teacher’s profession.
