Abstract

The article briefly presents the genres of economic newspapers and magazines of the middle of the XIX century. It is noted that, in contrast to the information (note, report, etc.) and hudozhestvenno-publicistic (story, essay, feuilleton), the key place in business publications was occupied by analytical genres such as review, article, analytical correspondence, etc.In addition, the reasons for the publication of specialized publications in the second half of the 50s of the XIX century are briefly considered, among which the most important place was occupied by economic newspapers and magazines, whose purpose was to stimulate the development of domestic industry and trade. Among them are the Economicheskiy Ukazatel (1857-1861) and the Economist (1858-1865) by I.V. Vernadsky, Promyshlenniy Listok (1858-1859) by M.Ya. Kittara, Vestnik Ppomyshlennosti (1858-1861) and “Akcioner” (1860-1863) by F.V. Chizhov, “Proizvoditel i Promyshlennik” by N.A. Lebedev.
