Abstract
The authors analyze the changing of the trend of the local government development in the Moscow City, following the accession of the new city areas that formerly were the part of the Moscow Region. The paper presents an analysis of the features of the Moscow City legislation on local government, assess the position of the Moscow regional branches of political parties on the issue, and examines the possible scenarios of the process that aimed at the leveling of the scope of powers of municipal formations of various types.
