Assistant Professor at National Institute of Education, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. She received her PhD in Chinese Linguistics from Stanford University, USA. Her research interests include Chinese linguistics, discourse grammar, and language acquisition and pedagogy. Her numerous publications occur in high-level peer-reviewed journals including Journal of Pragmatics, Chinese Language and Discourse, Lingua, Diachronica, Journal of Historical Pragmatics, Studies in Language, among others.
