Abstract

History of research of the international politics in China is not very long. But in the past decade, with the rise of China's international status, this sphere has obtained an unprecedented development in China. Chinese institutions of higher education make a great effort to promote its development. Not only making a substantial increase in the number of students in this major, but also promoting the study of international issues to a climax. Main characteristics of the international political studies in China are: Chinese scholars pay close attention to the hot issues of contemporary international issues; work closely with the forefront research theories; the scope of the study involves all aspects. In addition to these, Chinese scholars are diligently deriving strength from the Chinese traditional culture through the development of the «harmonious world theory». At the same time, the author also points out some problems that exist in this research domain.
