Abstract
The article focuses on the feasibility of applying information technologies in the process of training future geologists. Considers the methodological aspects of teaching future geologists information technologies. As an example the vector editor CorelDraw, which allows to perform vector drawings is considered. Formulate conclusions that the use of specialized software for solving geological problems in the classroom will help future professionals to acquire the skills to processing geological data, evaluating the results of developments in the student work, projects, and to increase the level of information technological and professional competence.
