Surgical treatment of recurrent inguinal hernias

Abstract
2958 patients with inguinal hernias are operated on. There were 2720 (91,95%) males and 238 (8,05%) females. The patient's age was from 18 till 86 years. Relapse of hernia occurred in 409 (17,4%) from 2351 patients after tension hernioplasty. From 2003 till 2010 yy 607 operations with the use mesh endoprosthetics are performed and relapse of hernia was observed in 6 (2,6%) patients. It is proved, that in case of imperfect inguinal ligament the threat of relapse increases in 4,5 times. Method of reconstruction of inguinal ligament in case of recurrent hernias, providing reliable hernioplasty, is developed.
