Electromyographic study on the functional state of mastication and temporal muscles in muscular-joint dysfunction of the temporomandibular joint associated with malocclusion

Abstract

Patients aged 20-35 years with muscular-joint dysfunction of the temporomandibular joint associated with occlusion disorders were examined. Electromyography of the muscles of mastication and temporal region in the state of rest and an excessive load on the teeth showed increase in functional activity. Particular attention to bioelectrical activity changes is required for planning treatment strategy.
