The purpose of the journal is enhancement of research efficiency in the field of political science on the basis of the development of scientific, editorial and publishing activities as well as dissemination and approbation of modern techniques and the latest achievements of political science in order to realize the mission of a modern classical university. This purpose specifies the principal objectives of the journal:

  • conceptualization of political problems, trends and tasks and further development of political self-consciousness and political culture;
  • providing the researchers with an opportunity of free expression and exposition of their vision of political processes and institutions within the framework of scientific discourse, critical review of political problems through the prism of certain concepts, aspects, approaches;
  • cooperation with Russian and foreign academic and educational institutions in order to extend the information field and exchange of scientific knowledge;
  • while preparing publications particular attention should be paid to materials considering the specificity of the RUDN in general and the themes of participating countries in particular;
  • extension of the authors’ community presupposing involvement of not only scientists and lecturers, but also postgraduates and masters in publishing activities;
  • improvement of the image and recognition of the bulletin due to the extension of its impact-factor;
  • inclusion of the journal in one of the foreign indices of quoting – “Scopus”;
  • promotion of the journal in the market of scientific periodical reviewed works;
  • usage of the published materials in the research and educational process at political science departments of Russian and foreign institutes of higher education as well as within the framework of teaching the humanities.

The journal is designed for publishing the results of independent and original researches of scientists, lecturers and staff members of the University as well as other scientific centers in the form of articles, review materials, scientific reports, bibliographical reviews on certain subjects and scientific areas. The journal covers all spheres of studying the political processes in Russia and contemporary world. Simultaneously, proceeding from the principal scientific trends of the department, priority is given to the coverage of such areas of political studies as political history of Russia; Russia in the system of international relations; political thought and methods of politological research. Particular attention is paid to the problems of Russia's study, researching the social and state development of contemporary Russia on the principles of methodological pluralism and interdisciplinariness, as well as studies of international relations and dialogue of civilizations in the context of changing global conditions of the contemporary world in the framework of reconsideration of the traditional methodological tools of political science.
