Abstract

Historical studies of Western Siberia salt industry began in the 18 th century. Different facts connected with the salt production and supply firstly appeared in the works of G.F. Miller and later in the books of I.E. Fisher and M.D. Chulkov. The article considers the issues raised by the scientists and defines the succession level in the Russian-language publications of the 18 th and 20 th centuries.
