Abstract
Analyzing the spatial determinants of agrarian production, the author reconstructs the theories of “geographic school” in the agrarian science, i.e. the ideas of J. Tunen, V. Lawnhardt and A. Veber, and the Russian scientists A.N. Skvortsov and A.N. Chelintsev. In this context China’s experience in agricultural production and rural development is considered. Shown is the importance of spatial factors in the agrarian development and food security of Russia.
