Abstract
Today, both Iran and Russia hold an important place in the geopolitical scene due to their huge reserves of strategic minerals, extensive human resources and powerful political and economic potential, which all undoubtedly serve as a firm base for working out a common position on key issues in the South Caucasus. Armenia holds an essential place in the interplay between Russia and Iran due to its positioning on the area of utmost strategic significance.
