Call for papers: Special issues in 2025

RUDN Journal of Philosophy is a peer-reviewed academic journal. The journal is included in the list of Scopus (Q2). In the history of the journal there are many works of authoritative Russian and foreign scientists on various philosophical disciplines (history of philosophy, ontology, epistemology, social philosophy, ethics) and related fields. Articles are published in Russian, English and German.

 

Special theme of the 1st issue 2025: “The Philosophy of Paul Natorp”

The year 2024 marks the 170th anniversary of the birth and 100th anniversary of the death of Paul Natorp. We invite you to publish scientific articles for this issue devoted to various areas of the philosophical concept of one of the main representatives of the Marburg school of neo-Kantianism, including logic, ethics, philosophy of religion, psychology, pedagogy and philosophy of culture.

Articles are accepted until October 01, 2024, the issue will be published in February/March 2025.

Prof. Dr. Jürgen Stolzenberg (Martin-Luther University Halle-Wittenberg, Germany) and Prof. Dr. Nina Dmitrieva (Immanuel Kant Baltic Federal University, Kaliningrad / Moscow State Pedagogical University) agreed to act as the issue editors.

 

Special theme of the 2nd issue 2025: “Contemporary society and social security”

The section will focus on contemporary social structure and the operation of social institutions, as well as on the various security aspects. The issues of political and social philosophy, societal security, and the potency of their renewal for the urgent problems of modernity call for discussion.

Articles are accepted until March 1, 2025, the issue will be published in May-June 2025.

The issue's editor is one of the leading specialists in political philosophy and international relations theory, independent researcher Gregory Simons. who holds a doctorate from the University of Canterbury (Christchurch, New Zealand) and is an Associate Professor at the Department of Communication Sciences at Turiba University (Riga, Latvia).

 

Special theme of the 3rd issue 2025: “Philosophy in Latinamerica

To foster dialogue between diverse and largely disconnected philosophical traditions, the RUND Journal of Philosophy proposes a special issue dedicated to publishing the work of Latin American philosophers who engage in various areas such as the history of philosophy, systematic philosophy, and Latin American philosophy. This issue will consequently cover both universal themes and topics related to specific issues of Latin American identity and culture.

Articles are accepted until 01 May 2025, the issue will be published in September 2025.

Prof. Dr. Mario Porta (Pontifical catholic University of São Paulo (PUC-SP), Prof. Dr. Jacinto Paez (Diego Portales University) and Prof. Dr. Evandro Brito (State University of the Centre-West of Paraná (UNICENTRO)) agreed to act as the issue editors.

 

Special theme of the 4th issue 2025: “In Search of a Strategy for Teaching Philosophy: Russian and World Experience

The rubric is devoted to the understanding of the role and place of philosophy in the educational system, considering the diversity of environmental contexts - social, historical-cultural, scientific-professional, etc. The rubric is devoted to the analysis of the role and place of philosophy in the educational system. Appeal to Russian and foreign experience will help to identify the conceptual foundations of teaching philosophy, to reveal the meaning of the presence of philosophy as an academic discipline in the educational system, to describe the actual mechanisms of formation of philosophical culture.

Key topics for discussion in the special rubric:

  • Philosophy in the education system: national experience.
  • Teaching philosophy as an interaction with historical heritage – author's concepts, interpretations of problems and categories.
  • Teaching as reflection and creative philosophising.
  • Teaching as philosophical propaedeutics for solving professional tasks.
  • Professional Identity of a Philosophy Teacher.

Articles are accepted until 1 August 2025, the issue will be published in December 2025.

The issue's co-editors are Elena Bryzgalina (Moscow, Russia), Head of the Department of Philosophy of Education, Faculty of Philosophy, Lomonosov Moscow State University, and
Elena Lavrentsova (Stara Zagora, Bulgaria), Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Education for Research and International Cooperation, University of Trakia.
