Abstract

The article discusses the position of the USSR on the Islamic Conferences of Asia and Africa. Recognizes the role and importance of Soviet policy aimed at the elimination of colonialism and neo-colonialism; protect the independence and sovereign rights of states and peoples, the strengthening of world peace. Based on the directives of the Soviet delegation, the author gives a clear position of the USSR at the conference. It is a question of one of the most important goals that faced the Soviet delegation at the 2nd Islamic Conference of Asian and African countries was the fact that in their decisions and documents of the Conference emphasized the importance of the "Declaration on the Granting of Independence to Colonial Countries and Peoples", adopted by the UN the initiative of the Soviet Union, condemned Portugal and other colonial powers, sabotaging its implementation, and demanded the immediate and strict implementation of the Declaration. It is mentioned the major questions which have discussed the countries-participants of conferences. The author examine the actual position of the USSR aimed at eliminating the economic, political and spiritual consequences of colonialism in the developing countries based on documents and actual materials.
