Abstract

Migration, especially in the social and economic dimension, is an important element of foreign policy in both sending and receiving countries. Emigration is nothing new in Polish reality. Caused by various reasons, it has specific consequences for the state and society. Migration, especially in the social and economic dimension, is an important element of foreign policy in both sending and receiving countries. The aim of the article is to analyze and assess the impact of Poland's accession to the EU on the scale and direction of migration of Poles, with particular emphasis on labor migration. The presented results were obtained from research of a professional agency (Migracje.gov.pl) dealing with analyzing and assessing changes in the labor market. At the same time, attention will be paid to the possibility of partial filling the labor market by employing immigrants from Eastern European countries, in particular Ukraine, Belarus and Russia.
