Abstract
The article revealed the role and the place of the tourism industry in the economies of developed and developing countries on the example of the Republic of Cape Verde. The historical aspects of tourism, the concept of tourism and tourist services, are the main classification of tourist services, analyzes the development of tourism in Cape Verde. In the article the main specific recommendations for improving the management of tourism industry in Cape Verde: Consider establishing a separate Ministry, the development of infrastructure to improve the competitiveness of Cape Verde as an international tourist center, expanding the possibilities of the tourism sector to create jobs, improve or reform of information systems in the tourist area, reform of the legal framework in the field of tourism, etc.
