Abstract

This paper discusses changes in fluorescence parameters of the photosynthetic apparatus of algae Scenedesmus quadricauda induced by copper sulfate and silver nanoparticles. It is shown that the light dependence curve of the photochemical and nonphotochemical fluorescence quenching can be used as a highly sensitive test to detect changes during the early stages of the impact of heavy metals on the algae.
