Abstract

The article is devoted to revealing the originality of the Moscow text of contemporary Russian literature on the example of Alexander Ilichevsky’s prose. In the course of the research, the mythopoetic foundations of the Moscow text of A.Ilichevsky were revealed and the features of artistic comprehension of traditional mythology (“city-woman”, “city-house”, “city of Kitezh”, “city-victim of fire”), megalopolis of the turn of XX-XXI centuries motives of tightness, emptiness, claustrophobia on the material of the novel “Matisse”. As a result of the research it was established that modern Moscow in Ilchevsky’s prose is a topos of power, career and success, the essence of which is concentrated in the “Moscow-City” locus, and the central characters of the novel “Matisse” are wanderers with inherent features of detachment from material propensities, propensity to reflect, impulsiveness do not coincide with the values and goals of the metropolis. Moscow in the prose of Illichevsky is both a place of attraction of heroes (city-house) and a place of moral and philosophical conflict (anti-house city).
