Abstract
The article is devoted to the study of the problems of spatial development and inequality on the example of the Republic of Azerbaijan. This problem is important in the economic system of countries dependent on oil exports, where the main resources are directed to the development of the economic center and to a much lesser extent are directed to other regions. In the framework of this article, an analysis of disproportions in the development of regions and cities of the country using the Lorenz and Zipf curves was made, and the presence of a clear imbalance in the economic development of the country towards the capital city of Baku was confirmed.
