Abstract

The study contains a comprehensive analysis of the place of Russia on the global mineral fertilizers market in the context of three segments: nitrogen, phosphate and potash fertilizers. The data analyzed in the article shows the volume of production, import and export of Russian mineral fertilizers in physical and value terms between 1961 and 2017: the Russian Federation is one of the largest fertilizer exporters in the global market, but it does not satisfy domestic demand. The main foreign trade partners (China, Brazil, the USA, India) and their dependence on Russian supplies, as well as Russia's dependence on the global market of mineral fertilizers are identified. The paper shows the case of salt import quantitative restrictions violation into Russia, and the identified covering good is potash fertilizer.
