The role of small and medium-sized enterprises in the French economy

Abstract

The article is devoted to the research of the role of private entrepreneurship in the French economy. In the work, the authors presented the main directions of the French economy, in which small and medium-sized businesses occupy the leading positions. The impact of coronavirus infection on the development of private entrepreneurship was analyzed, measures of state support for SMEs to overcome the consequences of the pandemic and the role of COVID-19 in the implementation of innovative technologies were considered.  The article also assesses the impact of the French system of small and medium-sized enterprises on the countries that are former French colonies.
