Abstract
For all the achievements of the present-day science, we cannot tell yet with any degree of confidence as to what is going to happen to our terrestrial habitat even in the short-term future. One queries the putative scenarios for the development of the biosphere and the very prognostication to this effect. Nevertheless, we think it is possible to make relevant ecological forecasts and verify them.
The main thing here is, preceding from geological data, to learn the biosphere, s mechanism of self-regulation. The point is that the biosphere, as modern sciences understands it, is an inhabited geological shell, or envelope; it is an open global dynamic system.
