ПРОБЛЕМА КОЛОНИЗАЦИИ В АНГЛИЙСКОЙ ПРОПАГАНДИСТСКОЙ ЛИТЕРАТУРЕ ПЕРВОЙ ПОЛОВИНЫ XVII В.

Аннотация

Статья посвящена восприятию потенциальными переселенцами английской колониальной литературы. На примере «отцов-пилигримов», основателей первой колонии в Новой Англии, показано, как пропагандистские памфлеты влияли на принятие решения о месте для переселения и на устройство будущей колонии. Также рассмотрена история создания и структура нескольких ключевых текстов. Цель статьи - определение различия между публицистической литературой о колонизации и вдохновленной ею колониальной практикой.
