«Insider is always right»: some aspects of patron-client relations «combined society» in the East
Abstract
The author tries to find out the specifics of the political culture of the East, believing that they are radically different from the ideas and political culture in the West. To solve this problem he sees as common approaches developed in political science to the phenomenon of political culture and finds out the «Eastern « the specificity of the phenomenon. The author advocates the concept of equality of civilizations, emphasizes the necessity of dialogue rather than conflict. Opposes the so-called democratic transition and globalization of the world under the auspices of the State monopoly.

The Image of Russia in «Renmin Ribao» in 1991–2012
Abstract
The paper describes the evolution of the official image of Russia in the PRC during the two post-Soviet decades. The author uses the publications on Russia in «Renmin Ribao» – the official organ of the Central Committee of the CCP – to reveal the main stages of this evolution and to show how the CCP position influences the representation of Russia.

On the formation of the image of Russia in Western Europe
Abstract
The article deals with the problem of forming the image of Russia in the Western tradition. The author shows the steps of forming ideas about Russia in the Western European society, the factors that influenced the occurrence of certain stereotypes and evaluations. This article analyzes the historical events and developments in the history of Russia and the countries of Western Europe, contributed to the folding of the image of Russia in Western Europe.

James Grover McDonald and the foundation of American – Israeli relations, 1948–1949
Abstract
The article is devoted to the foundation of American –Israeli relations in the difficult period, when the USA recognized Israel de-facto, the war took place in Palestine, and the main interests of the US government were concentrated in Europe. During the year McDonald worked as an official representative of the US in Israel on the peace settlement in Palestine, though his mission was not legal according to the international law.

The economic aspect of Qatar's Middle East policy in the context of the «Arab Spring»
Abstract
This article analyses the economical interests of Qatar’s Middle East policy. «Arab Spring» has brought to Qatar substantial dividends, which have allowed the world media to see in this country of a new regional leader. Further development of the Qatar’s economy is largely dependents on the development of the situation in the countries that have experienced the revolutions.

The ancient trade routes of the Meroitic Kingdom with the countries of the Mediterranean
Abstract
The aspects of the trade contacts between Meroitic Kingdom and Mediterranean countries are studied in the article. Nile was the main ancient trade route connected Mediterranean countries with the deep area of African lands. Nile cataracts and desert caravan routes were rather difficult and dangerous. These reasons stimulated development of trade routes via Red Sea, especially when interest to elephants used in Ptolemies’ army stimulate Red Sea travelling along the Nile rout. There were established new Greek factories along the Western Red Sea shore, which maintained trade activities.

Features of verbal behavior and the regional identity of the population of Crimea
Abstract
The article is devoted to the study of the actual use of languages in verbal behavior and regional identity of the three most numerous nationalities of the Crimea – Russians (64%), Ukrainians (24%) and the Crimean Tatars (10,2%), constituting nearly 95% of the population of the peninsula.

Lissner – the Reflection of Sorge
Abstract
The biography of Ivar Lissner is presented – a person, who worked in the Far-Eastern region in 30–40 th of the XX century and actually repeated the fate of the Soviet Military Intelligence member Richard Sorge. Lissners destiny reflected all those spiritual flingings typical of the German youths of the period between two World Wars; he went through the stage of enthusiasm from the seeming start of German Renaissance when Hitler came to power, bitter offence from the sudden society`s rejection when his non-arian origin get clear, to oppressive disappointment from his compatriots` betrayal, when he was put into Japanese prison.
