Sukhaya Termista I Bronze Age graves: a case study of cultural, physical anthropological and paleobotanical characteristics

Abstract

This paper presents the results of the excavation of Sukhaya Termista I burial ground located in the Rostov region of the Southern Russia. The features of the burial rite and funeral goods including remains of plants (phytoliths and pollen), physical anthropological characteristics of human remains and radiocarbon dates allow evaluate three Bronze Age groups of population, i.e. Yamnaya, Catacomb and Srubnaya cultures, bearers of which exploited the area and left many kurgans.
