Abstract
This article examines the history of Greek migration from the Ottoman-held Pontos in the limits of imperial Russia and the formation of Greek Diaspora of the North Caucasus at the end of XVIIth - beginning of XXth centuries. The paper discusses the circumstances under which the Pontic Greeks had settled in their new homes, their effort to adapt to a new place, maintain their national identity and finally form a significant center of the Greek culture in the North Caucasus.
