Abstract
The author tries to find out the specifics of the mass consciousness in the East, believing that they are radically different from the ideas and political culture in the West. To solve this problem it addresses the issue of ontological naturalism, the concept of «mutual distribution» of Karl Polanyi, clarify the role of the community and the specific patron-client consciousness, reveals the influence of colonialism in the mass consciousness of the East. The author advocates the concept of equality of civilizations, emphasizes the necessity of dialogue rather than conflict.
