Abstract
The article analyzes the current level of economic development of the Democratic Republic of Madagascar. It is shown that the country remains one of the poorest economies in Africa. However, we consider the growing population as a factor in the growth of the national economy in the future. The article shows that at present, the economy of Madagascar retains its traditional structure, and agriculture remains the leading segment. However, the authors found that there is growth in the industry and in the service sector, which, of course, will be of great importance for the country in the future.
