Abstract
The article studies the dynamics of regional and commodity structure of exports and imports of Brazil. The author revealed that over the period 1995-2020, Brazil became a serious player in the world market: it is among the first 30 leading countries in the world volume of exports and imports. During the research period, the volume of exports increased by 385%, imports - by 230%. China became the main trading partner (28% in exports), squeezing the United States; the export concentration index (as a share of the first five leading countries) increased from 45 to 53%. The article shows that the main changes in the commodity structure of foreign trade are a decrease in the share of imports for «machinery and transport equipment» and an increase in the share of exports for «non-food raw materials, except fuel». The author concludes that Brazil's participation in international associations not only allows the country to remain a partner of leading countries in solving a number of international, including socio-economic and political, problems, but also forces the leading countries to take into account the interests of Brazil.
